Selphie’s mother abandoned her at a few days old and she was placed into the care of Trabia Garden Orphanage. She was surrounded by loving and caring people while she was in the establishment. The young and energetic girl was bounced around from various foster families, but she always ended up back in Trabia. The young girl was starting to get discouraged that she would never find a family that would want her, so she finally gave up and started to focus on school so that she would be able to become something and not have to worry about people not wanting her. A few years had pasted and Selphie lost all hopes I finding a family.
When the age of ten came around, Selphie was adopted out to a family that was unable to have children and the fit into their lives the way they needed her to. They always wanted a daughter that would keep them on her toes and she had a strange hobby that they found interesting – she loved trains. Everything about them excited her and she wanted to learn more and more about them. They took her to all kinds of exhibits where they would show trains and other things that might catch Selphie’s interest. There were a few robotic shows where she wanted to learn more about how they worked and it lead her on the path to creating her own robots and various other mechanical objects.
In high school, Selphie was part of the robotics club and she was a lot more advanced than the others in her class and she was able to teach them a lot. Because of her skill in the club, she was able to receive a scholarship to any college that she wanted. She told her parents that she wanted to go to Mishima University and they moved from their quaint little home in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas and moved everything they owned and relocated to San Francisco. When she first moved there after graduating high school, she fell in love with the beaches that were close by and the things that Dallas didn’t have to offer her.
